School chapel. 1898-9, by Ponting. Flemish bond red brick with limestone ashlar dressings; old tile roof. Nave with apsidal east end and porch with vestibule to west. Cross with curved hood mould above pointed multi-chamfered arch over double-leaf plank doors, which are flanked by 3-light lancet windows. Taller gable wall behind porch has decorative canopy over carving at apex, above 2 two-light late C13 style windows set in multi-chamfered architraves. Gable wall of chapel has multi-chamfered pointed arch over blue brick tympanum with elaborate rose window. Gothic crocketed spire to left. 5-bay side walls have pointed lancets wtih ashlar band at sill level, and lean-to roof over passage with Diocletian windows to left. Large offset and gabled buttresses to apsidal east end, with gabled roofs over late C13 style 2-light windows with ashlar sills. Gabled roof. Interior: Apse has wooden tierceron-vault. Decorated-style sedilia and canopies over statues flanking east window. Nave has wall pulpit, linenfold panelling, original pews flanking central aisle, balcony to west and barrel-vaulted roof. Vestibule to west framed by chamfered pointed arches; decorative canopies over statues flanking multi-chamfered pointed arch over double-leaf doors to chapel; pointed cavetto-moulded doorway to newel stairs on left.
