Very fine late C16 house. Timber-frame, plastered with pargetting on front,
and brick plinth. Thatched roof with gabled ends, ends are red brick with
stepped gables with chimney stacks, the west end stack has lozenge-shaped
flues. Two storeys and attic. Mostly 5-light ovolo moulded mullion/transom
casements with leaded panes, first floor with moulded cills. Continuous
pent hood over ground floor. Central 3 storey porch with exposed timber-framing
in 3 stages each gabled, the first floor overhangs and the attic set back.
One gabled dormer to right.
Similar original windows at rear (north) and central 3 storey stair tower
with exposed timber-framing in diminishing stages the top stage gabled.
Wing on south-east C17 plastered, steep pantile roof with gabled ends, brick
chimney stack off centre.
