Tiled House Farmhouse

Barn, C17. Timber frame with tarred wattle and daub infill on tarred brick
plinth. Reed-thatched roof. Double door openings central in east wall with
opposing gabled porch projecting on west side. South gable weatherboarded;
south-east corner partly underbuilt in brick and clad in corrugated iron.
Interior: five structural bays with tiebeams on jowled principal posts.
Arch-braces to principal posts and southern tie beam; timber knees replace
arch-braces on ties flanking threshing floor. Roof has two tiers of staggered
butt-purlins with collars to principal rafters. Diagonal wind-bracing in
end bays. Farmhouse not listed.
