TG 31 SW SALHOUSE CHAPEL LOKE

7/71 Baptist Chapel.

- II

Chapel. c.1800. Red brick, pyramidal pantiled roof. Two storeys, square on
plan. symmetrical west facade of three bays. Two ground floor, three first
floor sashes with glazing bars; rendered skewback arches over openings.
Rendered plinth. Central doorway with plain wooden surround and architrave.
Two-leaf door with flush panels. Sashes at high level in north and east walls.
Later meeting room/vestry on south side; pantiled roof with parapeted gables
and internal chimney stacks. One sash window, two Yorkshire sashes with
glazing bars, ledge entrance door, all with segmental arches over openings.
Interior plain but complete : gallery with panelled parapet, two winding stairs
in south-west and north-west corners.
