House (on O.S. map as Little Manor Farm). Circa 1600. Rendered timber
frame, brick. Thatched roof, hipped at north end: 3-cell lobby entrance
type plan. Facade of 1½ storeys irregular C19 and C20 casement fene-
stration. Small C20 light to left. 2 casements with C20 porch to their
right. Brick plinth to right of porch; 2 casements. 2 C20 eyebrow
dormers. Off-centre axial stack, with C16/C17 brick to base; ridge to
right of stack slightly lower. Right hand gable wall of brick. Left
hand gable wall timber framed. 2 plank doors with first floor window
over previously used as access to hayloft; dripboard above. Casement
in gable with dripboard over. C20 lean-to to rear. Interior. North
room on ground floor with heavy chamfer to transverse beam, lambs tongue
with nick; chamfered joists; 4-light diamond mullion to east wall.
Similar ceiling in south room; now used as a work-shop and woodstore with
access only from outside; one doorway visible, now blocked, which gave
access to central room. Central room has 4-light diamond mullion in
west wall; floor possibly inserted, the transverse beam being supported
on deal props. North room of first floor has 4-light diamond mullion
to east wall; roof north of stack with coupled rafters of heavy scantling.
Cambered tie beam with stud partion; arch-braces to tie beam. Roof of
slight scantling to south of stack, possibly C18 but restored in C20.
