GV II

Public house. Early C18. Red brick, partly colourwashed. Pantiled roof,
hipped at south-east corner. Two storeys and attics, L-shaped plan. Facade
to street of six bays: cross casements with leaded glazing. Doorway
off-centre to left-hand side, 2-leaf half-glazed door, simple pilastered
surround with canopy. Shaped north gable with internal chimney stack, moulded
brick eaves corbel. Platband at first floor level. Brick dentil eaves course,
changing to moulded brick cornice over three right-hand bays. Three gabled
dormers with pebble-dashed cheeks and 2-light leaded casements. Two chimney
stacks on ridge line. Return to south-east two bays wide with segmental arches
over ground floor openings. Later lean-to at rear; small gabled outshut
in angle with semicircular-headed door opening.
