Pair of shops. 19th century. No. 14 has a 17th century rear addition and 16th century
cellar. Red brick and pantile roof; the two-storeyed rear extension has a rendered,
timber-framed first floor and a pantiled lean-to roof. The principal facade is three
storeys and five bays. 20th century shop fronts. Sash windows with rusticated surrounds
and vermiculated key stone. Dentil cornice. The cellar comprises two four-centred side
chambers, the eastern chamber is broken at the apex. One deep wall arch in the west wall.
Another four-centred side chamber and adjoining entry exists in the south wall, both
blocked. All he vaults are constructed of brick and the joisted ceiling was replaced
in the 20th century. The building is listed because of the cellar beneath No. 14 which
forms part of an important collection of l5th and 16th cellars within the city walls.
