Parish Church. C11, C12 and substantial C20 rebuilding after war
damage by A. J. Chaplin. Flint with stone and brick dressings. Black
pantile roof. West tower, nave and chancel. C20 south chapel and
vestry. North porch. Round tower truncated at nave eaves level. Traces of
circular openings. C20 single-storey porch. 2 circular window openings
in north wall of nave with a third altered into a lancet. Single bay
chancel. Norman doorway from St. Michael at Thorn leads from the nave
to the chapel. Julian of Norwich was an anchoress of this church with
a cell in the corner of the churchyard. F. Blomefield, "History
