House. Late C14, with mid C17 alterations. Painted brick to main range, with
fragments of timber-framing; roughcast, probably on timber-framing, to
cross-wing to right; old plain-tile roof; brick ridge stack to cross-wing;
lateral stack to rear of main range. Hall and cross-wing plan with
cross-passage, 2-storey, 2-window main range with 2-storey cross-wing. 4-panel
part-glazed door to right of main range. Irregular fenestration of Cl9 casements
with segmental brick heads to ground floor of main range, 2-storey Cl7 octagonal
bay window to end of cross-wing with wood mullion and transom windows with
carved mullions and transoms; gabled roof with pargetted inverted heart to
gable. 3-light C18 casement to right of centre of main range. Angled oriel
window to first floor left of centre with wood mullion windows and shaped
bargeboards to gabled roof. Cross-gable to left. Interiors, Straight flight
staircase from ground to first floors. Arch-braced base cruck to centre of main
hall, range with deep tie and cusped principals above. Queen-post roof to
cross-wing. Dining room, to ground floor of cross-wing has fielded panelling
with false quartered marquetry and grained and marbled fireplace surround,
having painted panel to overmantel.
