Stable block. Early C19 with later additions and alterations. Red brick,
stuccoed to main facade and rendered to left range; slate roofs, hipped
to rear range. Square plan around central paved courtyard. 2 storeys.
Entrance front has central round-headed arch with carved keystone and moulded
imposts struck through to soffit; flanking blind roundels. Clock to pediment
and open octagonal wooden cupola to ridge with domed bronze cap and weathervane.
Spur stones to front and rear of arch with plain pilasters to flanking wings.
Rear range has 8 irregularly spaced segmental-headed 4-paned sashes to first
floor and sash windows alternating with boarded doors, which have segmental-
headed overlights, to ground floor; 2 bays to right apparently a later
addition. Toothed eaves cornice. Left range has similar openings with
bell under gabled canopy between first and second windows from left. External
end stack to left and coped verges on carved stone kneelers; toothed eaves
cornice. Right range (former coach house) has 4 segmental-headed arches,
3 to left cut through by late C19 or early C20 continuous chamfered lintel
with boarded double doors to each opening. Interior: front range has
C19 loose boxes with cast-iron grilles.
