House. Circa 1800 with possibly earlier core, and circa 1840 additions
to north. Red brick with slate roofs, 3 gabled ranges running
north-south. 2 storeys. Coped parapet ramped down to sides; 2 ridge
stacks. South front: 3 window front; glazing bar sashes with cambered
heads, those on ground floor with gauged heads; 2 central C19 half-
glazed doors with 3-light rectangular overlight. C20 conservatory
attached to left replacing former extended facade. Left-hand block
(q.v. No.2, Lower Gardens) has hipped slate roof, stone eaves band,
ridge stack to left, and 2 integral lateral stacks to front at right.
Main entrance to north. Interior: circa 1800 staircase with stick
balusters. Ha-ha to south.
