Farmhouse and attached barn. Mid-to late C17, house remodelled, eaves raised and connecting range to barn added in mid-C18, minor later additions and alterations. House. Timber framed with painted brick infill to rear and rendered brick to front; painted limestone rubble to left gable end and graded slate roof. 2 storeys with dentilled eaves cornice. C19 casements to left and right of boarded door under C19 gabled trellised porch, those to ground floor segmental-headed and those to first floor directly below eaves. External red brick end stacks to left and right. Framing: exposed to rear: square panels, 3 from cill to original wall- plate with one above to raising of eaves. Section to right of original house, left half forming part of house and night cowhouse. House part has segmental-headed door to left and segmental-headed casements to right; another casement directly below eaves above door. Cowhouse has stable door to left with eaves hatch to right directly above fixed-light window. C19 lean-tos to rear. Barn. Weatherboarded timber frame on uncoursed limestone rubble plinth continued to right gable end and to right bay to rear; corrugated iron roof. Weatherboarding is vertical to left and horizontal to right, where largely concealed by painted rubblestone and red brick lean-to. Stable doors to left and centre with eaves hatch to left. External lateral steps to right gable end, which has segmental- headed boarded door on first floor. Interior. Framing visible: square and rectangular panels, 3 from cill to wall-plate with long straight tension braces. Stone threshing floor in third bay from left. Roof in 4 bays has collar and tie beams to first truss from left and raking struts from tie beam to principal rafters to third truss from left. Second truss from left is truncated above tie beam, which is possibly a reused cruck blade. Loft to 2 left bays and to right bay. Inspection of house not possible at time of resurvey (November 1986) but likely to be of interest.
