Cottage. Late C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed with rendered infill on rendered plinth; uncoursed limestone rubble and painted brick to left gable end, painted brick to right gable end; slate roof with overhanging verges and integral red brick end stacks.

Two storeys. Two C19 multi-paned casements, cast-iron to first floor, lower left larger and forming shopfront. Roughly central entrance; boarded door in moulded wood surround.

Interior: chamfered spine beam and heavy joists to left ground-floor room, which has C19 cast-iron cooking range to large fireplace. Timber framed cross wall plastered over at time of resurvey (August 1986).

C20 flat-roofed extension to rear is not of special architectural interest.
