Shown on O.S. map as Nos. 1 and 3.
Cottage. Dated 1585 with some late C19 or early C20 alterations.
Timber framed with painted brick nogging, partly rebuilt in painted
brick. Plain tile roof. Framing: square panels (3 from sole plate to
wall plate) with short curved braces. 2 framed bays. One storey and
attic. External brick end stack to left and C19 integral brick end
stack to right with 3 circular shafts. 2 large timber framed gabled eaves
dormers with 3-light wooden casements and painted imitation trusses. 3-
window front; 2- and 3-light wooden casements. Roughly central boarded
door with C20 gabled timber framed porch. Blocked doorway to right with
shaped wooden head dated: "1585 /IW TH". Collar and tie beam end
trusses with queen struts.
