Row of 3 cottages. Late C18. Ham stone roughly cut and squared, ashlar dressings; plain clay tiled roofs to steep pitch
between coped gables, the end gables stepped; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys, 3 bays each house, which were all
similar, symetrical elevation. Plinth, rusticated quoins and rusticated pilasters between each house; beaded mullioned
windows with shallow architraves having rectangular leaded light and iron-framed opening casements, the outer bays to
each house 3-light and upper centre bay 2-light: lower windows to No 2 removed and C20 reconstructed stone mullioned
windows with labels inserted: central doorway to each unit having architraves with triple keystones, all doors 6-panel
with top-lights: a flight of 9 stone steps with wrought-iron handrail to No 1, 4 stone steps with wrought-iron handrail
to No 2. Interiors not seen. Attached to west gable is no 4 (Gentlemans Cottage), of later date and not of special
interest.
