Detached farmhouse. Probably C16. Local lias stone cut and squared, Ham stone dressings; thatched roof between coped
gables, with clay double Roman tiles over Laburnum Cottage; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys with attic, 3 wide bays;
bay 3, the eastermost, being Laburnum Cottage. Hollow chamfered mullioned windows of 3, 4 and 4 lights below and 3,3
and 2 lights above, all having labels except upper bay 3, and all but upper bays 1 and 2 have unworked top mitres;
leading to some windows, with some internal vertical iron bars: between bays 1 and 2 a boarded door in heavy frame
protected by C20 porch. Matching windows and entrance in east gable. Interior not seen, but reported is shallow stair
turret (masked by rear lean to outbuildings); chamfered beams with stepped runouts; possibly wattle and daubed
partition said to have a painted mural, papered over; open fireplace in west gable, with ogee head to stone lined oven
to rear, and earlier form of bacon curing chamber: roof timbers probably late C17, seemingly raised. (VAG Report,
