ST13NW BICKNOLLER CP

10/15 Ford Cottage

Cottage. C17, extensively altered early C20. Rough cast over rubble, asbestos slate roof half hipped to right, brick
stack gable end left. Plan: originally 2 cell, no cross passage, now enlarged. One and a half storeys, all windows C20,
one 2-light dormer, groundfloor 3-light, 2-light and C20 glazed door with roughcast raking buttresses between. 3-light
casement windows on one bay right return, flat roofed single storey additions left return and rear. Interior:
groundfloor chamfered beams with runout steps. The main interest of this house is the one large exposed jointed cruck
truss on the first floor, perhaps reused from earlier building. (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, May 1983).
