Front of circa 1830-40 to circa 1700 house. 2 storeys and attic. 5 bays. Ashlar.
Band over ground floor. Heavy modillion cornice. Parapet with moulded cope and
4 inset square windows, 2 with marginally glazed casements, others blocked. Plate
glass windows on 1st floor in moulded architraves. Pierced stone balconies. 2
modern shop fronts. Hipped slate roof with one flat top dormer left of centre above
a parapet window. Side elevation rubble on rounded plinth. 1 small window in
bolection surround. Rear irregular with 3 gables of earlier house, the outer 2 with
2-light ovolo mullion windows with drips.
Interior: ground floor of No 7 has an egg and dart cornice; No 8 retains part of a
late C17/early C18 staircase from 1st to 2nd floors.
