Cottage. Early-to-mid C18; possibly circa 1739. Timber framed. Ground floor
rendered, first-floor tile-hung. Plain tile roof. Two roughly equal-length
timber-framed bays, formerly with partition between them. 2 storeys, on
stone plinth. Gabled. Large projecting red and grey brick stack to left gable
end. Irregular fenestration of two 3-light wooden casements to each floor.
Ribbed door to left of centre. Integral timber-framed rear lean-to. Short
2 storey later C19 red brick rear wing to left, extended in late C20. Interior:
exposed framing. Long cut jowls to principal posts. Curved tension braces of
light scantling. Fireplace with plain brick jambs and wooden bressumer.
Possibly the cottage referred to in a mortgage dated 1739 as "new erected".
