Farmhouse on the Stanford Park estate. Circa late C17 early C18,
extended in C19. Flemish garden wall and Flemish stretcher bond
red brick and Flemish bond extensions. Concrete tile roofs with
gabled ends and brick coped eaves course. Brick axial and gable
end stacks.
PLAN: Long 4-room plan main range; centre and right-hand rooms
heated from back-to-back fireplaces in axial stack; entrance-
stair hall between centre and left room, which is either a C19
addition or a remodelling when the C19 rear left wing was added.
C19 and C20 rear outshuts.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. Asymmetrical 4 window west front.
C19 3-light casements with glazing bars ground floor with
segmental arches, first floor left of centre 2-lights, right-
hand ground and first floor replaced with plastic casements. C19
glazed door left of centre. Platband at first floor level at
centre and right. C19 rearwing and single storey outshut
extended in C20.
INTERIOR: Right (south) room has chamfered axial beam with runout
stops and fireplace with cambered timber lintel. Left room (N)
has similar axial beam and C20 chimneypiece. Centre room has
boxed in axial beam and C20 chimneypiece. C18 and C19 joinery
including panelled doors and open string staircase with shaped
tread ends, stick balusters, moulded hand rail and column newel.
C18 and C19 roof structure with principals crossed at apex and
with collars and supporting large through purlins.
