House. Late C18. Brown brick, with rendered side elevations, and with
interlocking tiled roof. Double range plan. Two storeys and basement
with parapet and stack to right. Two glazing bar sashes on 1st floor,
1 to right on ground floor, and 1 to basement below, all with red brick
heads. Door of 4 panels to left with 5 steps and cast-iron poppy-head
rails. The cottage takes its name from a medieval chantry chapel,
parts of the walls of which were attached until recently (the flints
re-used as garden walls).
