1890. The former Peoples' Palace, designed by E R Robson. Ornate classical style
Ashlar masonry. 3 storeys. Central 7 bay colonnade of rusticated Doric piers
with half columns at sides to ground floor. Side pavilions of 4 bays, each with
Corinthian pilasters through 1st and 2nd floors. Pedimented hall behind.
