Early C18. Facade rebuilt circa 1800. Stock brick with slate and pantiled roof
and weatherboarded attic. 3 storeys, basement and attic. 2 windows under red
brick gauged flat arches. Sashes with glazing bars, those on ground floor with
margin lights. Red gauged semi-circular arch to entrance with stuccoed concave
quadrant reveals, fanlight with tracery and 6 panelled door. Area railings.
The Great Synagogue forms a group with Nos 1 to 39 (odd), Nos 2 to 20 (even)
and No 84 (The Ten Bells Public House) and with Christ Church, Commercial
Street, and Nos 57 & 59 Brick Lane, and No 2 Wilkes Street.
