2/93 Somerton Lock
GV II

Canal lock. c.1790. Brick with some stone dressings. East side retains some
stone copings but also has old bullnose brick copings; west side has concrete
copings. Upper gates are steel; lower gates are wood; both have wooden beams.
Lock is linked to the bridge (q.v.) and forms a group with the Lock Cottage
(q.v.).
