Terrace houses. c.1735, part of same row as No 16 qv. No. 17 rendered and No. 18
painted stock brick, concealed roof. 4 storeys. Each front 3 windows wide (right
hand bay wider to No. 17). Ground floor altered by mid C20 shop fronts but No. 18
retains exposed basement and house doorway to left, door of 6 fielded and moulded
panels in panelled reveals and soffit with wooden architrave case and carved consoles
formerly supporting cornice. Upper floors have segmented arched windows, recessed
glazing bar sashes intact to No. 18, casements to No. 17. Interior partly intact or
obscured by later decor including pilastered panelled passage halls, dog leg stairs
with turned balusters and carved tread ends, largely boxed in, box cornices etc.
