29.7.66 Farmhouse
- II
C17 L-shaped stone house with many walls rebuilt in brown brick and massive pro-
jecting chimney at end of shorter wing, which bears remarkable plaster decoration,
representing a tree supporting a form of cross and something resembling a thistle.
The outer side of this wing appears C18, with multi-light window on both floors.
Outer front of longer wing was remodelled in early C19 as a pair of dwellings. A
further dwelling at outer end is not of special interest. Opposite end has another
big projecting chimney which bears relief letters 'TB' on offset. Interior has beams
with large ovolo mouldings. Stone slab roof. (Muschamp, History ... of Ainsworth).
