Wellhead in centre of village green

II

Wellhead. Dated 1897, probably erected to commemorate Queen Victoria's golden jubilee. Dressed red sandstone. Semicircular retaining wall in front, allows the wellhead to be sunken. Round-headed recess has moulded surround with flanking reeded pilasters, block entablature and dated triangular pediment. Pump now replaced by tap.
