Includes No. 73 High Street (west side) Uppermill. 2 houses
and a shop. Early C19 and late C18. Hammer-dressed watershot
stone with graduated stone slate roof. 3 x 2 bays with 4
storeys. Raised quoins and eaves cornice. Bay 1 has blocked
dressed loading doors on each floor, otherwise each bay on
each floor has a paired sash window with square-cut surround
some of which are blind. High Street elevation has
rusticated quoins, a shop window on ground floor and
paired and single sash windows to the first and second
floors. Ridge and gable chimney stacks. The rear forms a
separate house in a parallel range. It is C18, has 4
storeys, a door to left with square-cut surround and a 7-
light recessed flat-faced mullion window with king mullion
to each floor. Included for group value.
