Description

TYLDESLEY MOSS LANE SJ 69 NE 6/54 Sales House G.V. II Farmhouse. Mid/late Cl7. English garden wall bond brick with graduated stone slate and slate roof. T-shaped plan with a total of 4 bays and 2 storeys. Gabled crosswing projects in bay 1. 2 doors, one blocked,in bay 3. Otherwise 3-window openings with casements removed on each floor and a 4-light casement window to first floor bay 1 beneath 2 elliptical arches with brick hoodmoulds. Attic light in gable. The paired elliptical-arched windows are repeated on the left and right returns, the latter blocked. Chimney stacks to left and ridge. The rear has various 2 and 3-light casements some below segmental brick arches. An original boarded door with strap hinges is adjacent to the crosswing which has a stair window with brick hoodmould and a 2-light double- chamfered attic light with brick mullion. Interior: chamfered beams with stepped stops. Dogleg staircase with turned balusters, closed string and moulded rail.
