Milestone. Dated 1825. Cast iron. Fluted cast iron post with rounded head
inscribed to left SHAP 6 MILES and right PENRITH 4 1/2 MILES with 1825 in centre.
Oval maker's plate at top has been painted over many times and is illegible.
Painted white with lettering picked out in black.
