Cottage. Row. C18 with evidence of earlier structure in cottage at extreme
left, probably C16. Timber-framed elevations now faced in mixture of painted
brick and painted rubble stone. Exposed framing on both floors of No 789 to
left. Creosoted weather-boarding on 1st floor of No 789 to right. Long con-
tinuous roof, stepped over No 785, with full hip at left hand end and half-hip
at right-hand end. Central stack off-ridge to front on No 781. NOS 781-783.
2 storeys; 2 window 1st floor, glazing bar sashes C20 shop front on ground
floor to right, C20 glazed door to right with continuous hood over both. Large
segment-headed casement to extreme right. NOS 785-789. 2 storeys; irregular
fenestration of 4 windows on 1st floor, 5 on ground floor, mixture of sliding
and hung casements, glazing bar sashes and non-opening windows with lattices
on glazing bars. Double boarded loft doors on 1st floor at extreme right.
Boarded on half-glazed doors on ground floor to left and right and off-centre to
left. Decorated wooden lintel over right-hand doorway.
