Pair of model cottages. Mid C19. By Henry Roberts. Red brick, with stone
hood moulds and Collyweston slate roof with brick ornamental ridge stack.
2 storeys of 2 2-light casements under 2 gables. 2 3-lights to ground
floor. Either end in angle a 4-panelled door. On each end gable a 2-light
casement both floors, and on right end a C20 door as well. Lean-to to
rear. Roberts,as architect to the Society for Improving the Conditions
of the Labouring Classes,was a pioneer in the field of working-class
housing and his designs were published by the Society for landowners
and others to use. These cottages are to one of those designs. Curl,

are to the same design.
