SP 39 NE HIGHAM-ON-THE-HILL UPTON LANE

9/22 Grange Farmhouse

Shown on O.S. map as Stoke Grange. Farmhouse. Late C18. Red brick
(Flemish bond) with plain tile roof and brick end stacks. 3 storeys
and dentilled eaves band; reduced proportions to second floor. Regular
5 window front; the central window is narrower than the others. C18
glazing bar sashes with segmental heads, the glazing bars having been
removed from the lower panes. C20 top opening casements to second
floor within C18 openings. Central 4-panel door with raised and
fielded panels, rectangular overlight, reeded pilasters and open
pediment. Interior: Through-passage plan and staircase with stick
balusters and turned foot newel.
