Former Conservative Club. Late C18. Brick with stone
dressings, slate roof. 3 storeys, 5 bays. Stone base, 1st
floor sill band, top fluted frieze, cornice and blocking
course. Windows have wedge lintels and are sashed with
glazing bars, those to ground floor boarded (1985). Round-
headed entrance has aedicule with Doric half-columns, fluted
frieze and pediment. Building raised above street level,
with C19 rusticated stone retaining walls; gatepiers and
wallpiers with rusticated panels and pedimented caps.
