C1830 pair of stucco villas, semi-detached, on 2 storeys and originally probably
of 3 bays each, symmetrical overall. No 30 has additional gabled bay and
lower 2 storey service wing. No 31 has set back one bay wing to left. Plinth;
moulded flat eaves to hipped slate roof; cut down stucco chimney stacks.
No 30 has ground floor windows in relieving arches with stucco lunettes decorated
with ribbed lovers knot pattern. Plain outer sash windows on first floor,
the central window in arched recess with fluted pilasters and round head.
Entrance contained in arched recess with fluted Tuscan columns supporting
shallow bracketed cornice across door head anf fanlight above. The gabled
extension to right has similar ground floor window with ribbed knot to arch
and 2 plain first floor windows with delicate x pattern iron balconies. Service
wing to right. No 31 has 3 bay front with same details as No 30 but the entrance
is in the recessed bar to left and the centre bay of front has a "ribbed knot"
window as on rest of ground floor. Recessed overarched Tuscan column doorway
in set back one window wing. Garden rear elevations: 2 further x pattern
balconies and a scrolled Victorian one; No 31 has 2 canted bays of C1850.
