C1830-40 pair of semi-detached stucco villas, No 40 roughcast. Each has 2
bay front on 2 storeys with entrance to side and recessed wing. Hipped slate
roof with flat eaves; corniced stucco chimneys. Shallow plinth and first
floor sill band. First floor windows have architraves carried down to sill
band, containing panelled aprons; ground floor windows have cornices on consoles;
glazing bar sashes. No 40 has C1860 canted bay windows inserted in ground
floor with miniature shafting and drip moulds to sash lights, projecting cornices.
Side entrances in panelled pilaster frames with entablatures. Sill band returned
with same fenestration for 2 bays.
