Set back from road amongst new housing, a former estate cottage or farmhouse,
probably of early C18 origin, but altered with the residential development
of the Calthorpe estate circa 1830-40. Two storeys stucco faced brick on
L-plan. Three bay west entrance front with cabled outer bays. Gable end
clay tile roof with overhanging eaves; brick chimney stacks with paired or
tripled diagonally set shafts. Purlins projecting from gable ends. West
front has 2 and 3 light large pane lattice casements with thin mullions;
on first noon beneath gables 2 small canted bay window with lattic lights.
Gabled trellis porch. Rear wing has lattic iron framed casements with small
diamond panes. The building was probably timber framed originally.
