Circa 1936 house and grounds as built, a good example of its Scandinavian brick
modern style. Two storeys. Symmetrical front with battered plinth of low
bricks laid vertically. Three big broad polygonal stone steps to entrance
with pair of blue Art-Deco vases. Door with pattern of fielded panels within
brick entrance with splayed picture frame surround. Elliptical glazed canopy
with green metal side radiating from elliptical hub. Tiny square ground floor
windows deeply recessed in brick-on-edge surrounds. First floor with 2 very
tall narrow windows with green shutters. Brick-an-edge frieze; parapet with
stone coping. Quadrant wall to right linking to formal hedge with elaborate
iron gates. Pair of garages to left with elaborately panelled doors. Unaltered
interior to match.
