Circa 1840-50 Gothicised 3 bay red brick villa with stucco dressings. Broad
right hand bay advanced and gabled with ornate cut bargeboards and finial.
Slate roof with overhanging eaves. Red brick chimneys. Mullion-transom
casement windows in broad splayed stucco reveals with dripmoulds over. Red
brick porch with stepped stucco gable. No 229 with its right hand break
balances the similar No 231 with a left hand break.
