TG 12 SW BOOTON FURZE LANE

4/5 Furze Lane Farm House.

Farmhouse c.1700. Red brick, steeply-pitched pantile roof. Two storeys and
attic. Principal facade (to north-east) of four bays : casement windows with
mullion and transom. Two C20 fixed lights. Flat rubbed brick arches over
ground floor openings. Off-centre entrance door with moulded brick
surround : segmental pediment on pilasters. C20 half-glazed door. Moulded
brick string course at first floor level. Corner pilasters. Parapetted gables

with brick tumbling (west gable rendered. T A on east gable tie-ends)
Gable chimney stacks. Catslide extension to rear. C19 canted bay window
with hipped slate roof. Gabled one storey and attic wing to west. Main range
roof of closely-set principals with collars : staggered butt-purlins, straight
wind-bracing. Some C18 panelled doors. C18 corner cupboard with semi-circular
keyed arch on fluted pilasters.
