TF 63 SE DERSINGHAM MANOR ROAD (east)

Tithe barn. 1671. Squared clunch and carstone with brick dressings, red
pantiled roof. 2 3-stead threshing barns built end to end. West face has
squared carstone plinth, brick set-off, squared clunch above. 2 brick dressed
ventilation slits, carstone coursing and dogtooth dentil eaves cornice suggests
heightening. Brick quoins, brick dressings to 2 leaf boarded doors. Central
brick wedge buttress. Steeply pitched roof. South gable has 3 brick dressed
ventilation slits to ground floor, 3 to gable. Brick string course brick
quoins, kneelers and stepped gables with triangular section brick copings.
Date stone in gable set in rectangular brick frame, inscription "1671
IULY THE 31". 2 pairs of "S" curve purlin irons. Scheduled Ancient Monument,
County Number 271.
