Former large house, now subdivided into flats. Mid to late C18:
early C20. Reddish-brown Flemish bond brickwork: tiled roof.
Large U plan with rear wing on left forming three-quarter H: all 3
storeys: later projecting single-storey wing in centre of U, and
to rear, forming last part of H. Garden front: left wing
tripartite 2 pane sash, flat rubbed brick arch. Projecting centre
wing, brick plinth, all windows tall, 2-unequal pane sashes under
flat rubbed brick arch. Window left return: centre projects
again, window in returns, central window front wider (upper sash 2
pane), flanked narrow windows; moulded brick eaves cornice:
hipped roof: pedimented gable in centre, rendered. To right,
ground floor, late C20 three-light metal window in part of earlier
opening, flat rubbed brick arch over, cambered head to cellar
window below. First floor 3-light casement in each wing, 2 in
centre recess, each with flat rubbed brick arch; trefoil head with
glazed spandrels to each light. Second floor 4 similarly spaced. 3-
light plain casement windows, cambered-brick heads. Dentil eaves,
shaped dentils, hipped roof, with central valley or lead flat.
Chimney on ridge of left wing, right of centre, and small chimney
in right rear corner centre recess. External stack right return.
Opposite, entrance elevation, projecting 3 storey wing on right 3
windows wide, centre blind, outer 2-light as first floor front, but
with cambered brick arch. Left return 2 small mid C20 metal
windows. Six flush panel door on right, main block, semi-circular
fanlight with curved V tracery, rubbed brick arch. On left window
as in wing and blind window: single-storey wing beyond. First
floor wing 2 blind openings right, 2-light left as below: main
block 5 similar windows. Second floor originally 2-light plain
casement under cambered brick arch centre, similar blind openings
each side: left enlarged late C20 to take 3-light metal window.
Five 2-light plain casements in main block: dentil eaves and
hipped roof as garden front. Curved conservatory on garden front
on right, removed mid to late C20.
