Thatch Cottage

GV II
House. C17, restored mid-C20. Timber-framed, painted brick and rendered
infill; machine-tiled roof. Two framed bays aligned east/west; external
chimney with brick stack at east gable end. Single storey and attic with
dormers. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, short straight
upper corner braces and collar and tie-beam truss exposed at west gable
end with two raking struts to collar and V-strut in apex. North front
elevation: windows are C20 casements; ground floor has two 2-light windows;
two gabled dormers with 2-light windows; timber-framed gabled porch to right
of east bay with C20 door in right side and left side light; chimney to rear
roof pitch of west bay. Attic lights in gable ends. Interior: main beams
are stop-chamfered. A C20 addition now encloses external chimney at east
gable end.
