3/54 The Old Rectory
GV II
Rectory, now house. Tablet MDCCXCI. Sandstone rubble with brick dress-
ings. Hipped Welsh slate roof. Sandstone rubble and brick end stacks.
Rectangular plan with main front to south-east. Two storeys and attics.
South-east elevation has three windows, late C18 sashes. Ground floor has
three French casements with glazing bars, probably late C20. Large brick
relieving arch to outer windows of each storey. Whole of ground floor is
masked by late C20 wrought iron perspex-roofed lean-to veranda. Rear elevation
has attic windows with pointed heads and late C18 casements, one to either side
of gable beneath which is date tablet. Interior noted as having cantilevered
late C18 to early C19 staircase with stick balusters, said to be ex situ.
