GV II

House. Early to mid-C18. Finely jointed brick with ashlar dressings, hipped
plain tiled roof behind plain parapet with brick end stacks. Three storeys
and cellar with modillion eaves cornice. Five bays. Windows have gauged
flat heads and ashlar sills; 12-pane sashes on ground and first floors, 6-
pane sashes on second floor. Central flat-roofed brick porch with ashlar
parapet and moulded eaves cornice. Entrance set within recessed panel and
has a round-arched head, a Gibbs surround and flush-panelled double doors
with a barred segmental fanlight above. There are round-arched windows within
sunk panels in the side elevations. Elevation to road is of three bays and has
casement windows with cambered heads and a central doorway with an open pediment
and engaged columns. A two-storey wing adjoins to left of the road elevation.
Interior: there is an almost circular hall with a glazed dome and decorative
plasterwork. (BoE, p 279).
