Farmhouse. C17, refronted late C18. Partly rendered brick and slate,
partly hipped roof with overhanging eaves and brick stacks. Two storeys.
Three bays; windows are all 18-pane sashes with cambered heads. Central
entrance has a flat canopy and is flanked by pilasters with sunk panels.
The doorway has a door of six flush panels and a transom light with two
glazing bars. There is a large wing to rear left. Interior: the ground
floor room to the right of the main range is of substantial proportions
and has massive stop-chamfered oak ceiling beams which divide the ceiling
into 20 compartments. (VCH, IV, p 364).
