Entrance lodge to Thorngrove. Mid C19 with C20 alterations and additions.
Orange brick, blue brick dressings and detailing, tiled roof with bands of
fishscale tiles and overhanging eaves, brick rear stack having oversailing
cap courses. Cottage ornée style. L-shaped plan; single storey and attic;
gable ends have pierced, scalloped bargeboards and pendant finials; blue
brick base, quoins, diaper patterns and decorative cogged string course
forming hoods over windows and entrance. Entrance elevation in gable end
facing north, has a gabled porch with brick base and timber uprights, C20
half-glazed door and attic casement. Bay windows with pent roofs in side
elevations. Interior not inspected. A C20 single storey extension adjoins
to rear and west of building.
