Farmhouse. Mid-late C18 with later alterations and additions. Red-brown brick to original build, lighter brick to later build. Pantile roof. Double-depth plan: original section with 2-room, central entrance-hall south front; later single-room addition to right. 2 storeys with attic, 2 first- floor windows to original section; single-window addition. Straight joint between builds. 6-fielded-panel door beneath moulded lintel and plain overlight, flanked by single unsympathetic C20 casements in original openings with sills. C19 4-pane sash to right addition. First floor: similar windows to original section and to addition. All openings beneath segmental header arches. First-floor section of right addition has different brick, suggesting later alteration or rebuild. Stone-coped gables with shaped kneelers. End stacks to original section and extension. Left return has attic hatch with board door. Rear: blocked door, C20 casements to main range; C18 6-fielded-panel door, C20 ground-floor casement, first- floor hung sash and 8-pane sliding sash to addition. All openings beneath segmental header arches. Interior: original section contains open-well staircase with moulded handrail and column-on-vase balusters with square knops; not fully inspected. Formerly part of the now deserted village of Haldenby, which extended along the banks of the Old River Don as far east as Haldenby Hall (qv). Empty and in decay at time of resurvey.
