Church. C12 origins, datestones 1686, 1691, west tower 1901. Ashlar with slate roofs, 3-bay chancel, 4-bay nave with north door and north aisle with east chapel, C20 south porch, west tower. West tower: 3 stages. Chamfered plinth, 2 flat-headed belfry openings with clock between them under battlemented parapet. Nave: chamfered plinth, lancet to left, pointed window with Perpendicular tracery under a hood-mould to left of south porch, pointed window with Reticulated tracery to right of south porch. South door of c1150 with spiral nook-shafts and capitals with saltire crosses supporting quirk-and-chamfer imposts and round arch, with chevron ornament, enclosing tympanum with carving of Paschal lamb beneath chevrons. Coped parapet concealing low pitch roof, coped gable with cross finial. North door in double-chamfered pointed opening with datestone over 'ROBERT ROPPER JOHN STEVENSON 1686'. Flat-headed 2-light window to right with datestone over 'D. D. THO. EBOR. 1691'. Lower chancel: 3-light flat-headed south window with C19 curvilinear tracery. Pointed 3-light east window with Reticulated tracery under hood-mould. Plain close verges. Interior: C20 nave roof incorporating re-set C15 bosses, C15 north nave arcade of octagonal piers on raised moulded bases with moulded capitals supporting pointed double-chamfered arches: double-chamfered pointed strainer arch on pentagonal corbels, that to north with carving of human figure. East chapel has long squint to chancel, trefoil-headed piscina, and re-set C12 grotesques. Chancel arch of c1150 of 3 orders enriched with deep roll mouldings supported on responds on raised bases with saltire crosses to capitals of outer order, scallop capitals to inner order. C12 tub font with lozenge decoration. Recumbent effigy of priest in sacramental robes with chalice in north aisle. Porch has re-set carved fragments.
