22/60 The Cottage
(approximately 15 metres
east of Eaton Lodge)


House. Mid - late C18 with later minor alterations and additions. Coursed
limestone rubble with brick dressings, colour-washed. Brick stacks,
concrete pantile roof. 2-room central entrance-hall plan; later continuous
outshut. 2 storeys, 3 bays; symmetrical. 6-flush-panel door (top 2 panels
glazed) in beaded frame beneath timber lintel, flanked by 4-pane sliding
sashes with projecting sills beneath timber lintels. First floor: similar
sliding sashes and blind central panel. Dentilled brick eaves cornice. C19
end stacks. Interior not investigated.
